Below are some photographs posted on Facebook by a mother. She took the photos while visiting her daughter’s classroom. They show the answers of seven-year-olds to their teacher’s question, “What do you think about the world?”
As you can see by the children’s answers, they did not answer the teacher’s question. They did not express any thinking about the world, they simply wrote very short answers like news bites that were probably indoctrinated into them by their teacher, some of the parents and the media.

It’s very sad for me to read these comments from seven-year-old children. These children should be living in innocence with an openness to the wonder and awe of the truth, goodness and beauty of the world. It is unnatural for such young children to be involved in partisan politics. It seems that they were indoctrinated into the opinions behind their questions by their teacher. It also seems amazing to me that none of them had one positive comment about the world.
Moreover, the teacher’s question was what the children thought about the world. The responses of the children were not answers, but rather questions involving partisan politics. The children have not learned that you shouldn’t answer a question with a question. It appears that these children were used to promote someone else’s obvious partisanship and not their own.
These children should be exposed to more of nature, recreation, hobbies, music, art, literature, and religion etc., so that they can appreciate what a wonderful world this is. Perhaps their parents could begin by teaching them the song that Louis Armstrong made famous, What a Wonderful World shown beneath the photo below.

I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world
Let us turn to Our Lady of America, our patroness and Queen, to intercede for the restoration of our Culture of Death – the death of unborn children, the death of marriage, the death of family, the death of the innocence of children and the death of the elderly and disabled – to a Culture of Life and a Civilization of Love for which Saint John Paul II prayed so earnestly!
