Pray Against Unrestricted Abortion on Demand in Vermont

November 3, 2022

On Election Day, November 8, Vermonters will be asked whether or not to vote to amend the Vermont Constitution, essentially to allow unrestricted abortion on demand, as follows:

Article 22. [Personal reproductive liberty] That an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy is central to the liberty and dignity to determine one’s own life course and shall not be denied or infringed unless justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means.

The words, “an individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy” are not defined and are vague and ambiguous. It will be left to the courts to interpret them.  If the vote on this amendment passes, it could set a precedent for the rest of our country.

The proposed amendment could allow for the following:

  • Guaranteed unregulated late-term abortions throughout all nine months of pregnancy up to the day of birth.
  •  The removal of “conscience protection” for healthcare workers, meaning more doctors and nurses would avoid working in Vermont, creating more staffing shortages.
  •  Elimination of parental rights concerning children’s sexual and gender related choices.

Please pray a daily Rosary through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn, through November 8 for the defeat of this evil attempt to amend the Vermont Constitution to allow for unrestricted abortion on demand.
