Our Lady of America’s Victory in Federal Court
Read the Stirring Argument to the Jury
The Devotion to Our Lady of America has been under restraint since the death of the visionary, Sister Mary Mildred Neuzil, on January 10, 2000. Since that date, the Devotion, which was canonically approved by the Catholic Church, was restrained by the copyright and trademark claims of a woman who called herself “Sister” Mary Joseph Therese. However, her Bishop and the Holy See determined that she was no longer a nun.
She claimed the exclusive right to promote the Devotion and that no one, including the Catholic Church, could promote the Devotion except herself. Her claim that the image and statue of Our Lady of America shown in the photo above violated her copyright was denied by a federal court in Indiana.
Now that this statue is free of all of her claims, it may be processed and displayed as Our Lady of America requested in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC.

“Sister” Mary Joseph Therese made many claims against Larry Young, another promoter of the Devotion. Larry argued to the jury:
“I have a more lengthy history with this claimant than anyone else in this case….14 years….more than ¼ of my entire life!! In that time, she has shown a history of using people for her personal gain in the Devotion by portraying herself as a poor Catholic nun when in reality she was neither.… She had multiple real estate properties and a million dollars’ worth of bank stock at her disposal.
She had paid people… to make harassing telephone calls and create conflict for people like me spreading disinformation to local bishops and organized others to make telephone campaigns designed to disrupt business operations at diocesan offices around the country.
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS:
NOBODY owns Love,
NOBODY owns Forgiveness,
And NOBODY can own a Devotion!
These are all things that are given to us.”
On November 15, 1956, Our Lady of America requested that a statue be made according to her likeness and that it be solemnly carried in procession and placed in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. She wishes to be honored there in a special way as “Our Lady of America, the Immaculate Virgin.”
It is vital in these times that we respond to Our Lady’s requests. Our Lady gave the U.S. the role to lead the world to purity and peace through strong families. The cause of the family is especially dear to her heart.

She promised that the placement of her image in the home would be a safeguard for the family and that the display of her statue in her National Shrine would be a safeguard for our country.
Our Lady promised that greater miracles than those granted at Lourdes and Fatima would be granted right here in the United States, if the people responded to her requests.
Let us pray that the U.S. Bishops honor Our Lady of America’s request soon and solemnly process and display her statue in the National Shrine as a safeguard for our country.

Our Lady of America said, “Trust me and love me. I so desire it. Do not forget your poor Mother who weeps over the loss of so many of her children. My Son asks of souls love, that true love willing to sacrifice itself for the one loved. Man fears to sacrifice himself because he is selfish. If souls would place themselves into my keeping, I would teach them the way of true love.”
