October 7, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary
In 1531, when Our Lady left her miraculous image on St. Juan Diego’s tilma, some Aztecs still practiced human sacrifice. In the era of the Aztec Culture of Death, the Gospel of Jesus Christ penetrated their hearts through the image and message of Our Lady of Guadalupe that brought the conversions of millions and an end to the human sacrifices.
In 1214, St. Dominic prayed for wisdom to bring conversions to the Albigensian heretics. They believed that human material life and procreation were evil and that the highest good was to commit suicide!
Our Lady appeared to St. Dominic and said, “I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the principal weapon has always been the Angelic Psalter, which is the foundation-stone of the New Testament. Therefore, if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, preach my Psalter.” Our Lady called her Rosary “My Angelic Psalter” because the Angel Gabriel announced the first part of the Hail Mary to her and because the Rosary then consisted of 150 Hail Mary’s in three mysteries and there are also 150 psalms (the Psalter).
In both of those critical times, Our Lady won over the people to Christ to a Culture of Life through prayer. In our own era too, Our Lady will lead humanity to a Culture of Life and a Civilization of Love through the prayer of the Rosary.
It is our hope that through her intercession and the Rosary, Our Lady of Guadalupe will repeat her historic role and help to bring millions of conversions and the end of human sacrifice by legalized abortion, euthanasia, and suicide in our own Culture of Death.
Doctor Says, “Our Lady of Guadalupe Is Very Powerful!”
Here is the testimony of a wife whose husband ‘s doctor said, “Our Lady of Guadalupe is very powerful!”
In January 2014, my husband was diagnosed with liver cancer and was put on a liver transplant list. Both my husband and I have a lot of faith in Our Lady of Guadalupe. I called Vivian, a very good friend of ours, who was the Guardian of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She invited us to her home to venerate the image and for prayer for my husband.
My husband approached the image and placed the fingertips of his left hand on her mantle and his right hand over her hands. While he was praying, he experienced a tremendous amount of heat on his left hand and had to pull his hand away from the image. While he was praying, Vivian placed her hand over his liver and that area got so hot that he had to move her hand away. Some of the women there experienced tingling fingers. It was all a beautiful experience!
The week after that prayerful experience, my husband and I were at daily Mass and had just returned to our pew after receiving Holy Communion. While we were kneeling down giving prayerful thanks, my husband felt a hand reach across his side and rest on top of his liver. When he opened his eyes, he looked down to see if anyone was touching him. No one was around. He asked me if I had tried to get his attention, but I had not. We felt that somehow this was Divine Intervention!
Then Georgetown hospital called him as a third backup possible liver transplant recipient. We had prayed that he would be a recipient at Georgetown Hospital since it was a Catholic Hospital and we were impressed with the staff that we had met. Everything was so miraculous!
We were met at the hospital by our two daughters, our son and his wife. My husband took a cloth image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the hospital and placed it next to him on his pillow. The surgeon we were hoping for wasn’t supposed to be there that evening, but he was asked to cover for the scheduled surgeon who was out of town and so he was available for us.
The surgery was supposed to take 6 to 12 hours, but it only took 4 1/2 hours. The average units of blood received for a liver transplant is 4 units of blood. He received only 1 unit of blood. The ICU nurse said that his post-operative results were a joke, since no one usually gets such good results right after surgery. His recovery was amazing!
My husband felt no pain associated with the surgery. He walked and climbed stairs only two days after the surgery. He always looked great and still does! He was told that he would be in the hospital for at least 4 1/2 weeks, but he was discharged after only 8 days. The staff was amazed by his progress and he was soon back to all of his normal activities!
He received many comments about Our Lady of Guadalupe. One doctor even commented that “She is very powerful!” We certainly can attest to that!
The Holy Glitter (escarchas) abounds around her Missionary Image. She miraculously sheds tears and holy oil which are sometimes felt on her hair and mantle. Her eyes open and close. Some feel and hear her heartbeat and also the heartbeat of Jesus. She is truly miraculous! Through her intercession, many are healed! Thank You for this wonderful ministry of The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe which travels throughout the United States. She is truly needed in these times!
Maybe Jesus is calling you to meet this need by hosting a Visitation of the Missionary Image. Please click here to learn more.
We Truly Need Your Help!
When we receive reports like these from Guardians telling us how veneration of the Image and the hours of prayer and the Rosary before the Image have resulted in conversions, miracles, healings and signs and wonders, we realize how important the work of our Apostolate is today. As the testimony said, “She is truly needed in these times!” Our Lady of Guadalupe in her Missionary Image restores hope to a hopeless world and leads those who have gone astray home to the heart of her Son. We truly need your help which enables us to continue our work! We appreciate you and thank you for your encouragement and support.
