Our Lady of Guadalupe
The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
August 22, 2011
Dear Friend of Our Lady,
Mary is Queen of heaven and the only human to be immaculate from the moment of conception and chosen to carry and raise the Son of God. We pray to her with words fit for a queen, Hail Mary, and we ask for her intercession. Like any queen she listens to the petitions of her subjects. As queen she has many blessings to share with us. Pope Pius XII established the feast day of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1954, yet for hundreds of centuries before, she had been affectionately called Queen.
In Ad Caeli Reginam, Pope Pius XII’s encyclical on proclaiming the Queenship of Mary, he stated the case for her veneration as Queen as he references many examples throughout the ages. Here is an excerpt, “From the earliest ages of the Catholic Church a Christian people, whether in time of triumph or more especially in time of crisis, has addressed prayers of petition and hymns of praise and veneration to the Queen of Heaven. And never has that hope wavered which they placed in the Mother of the Divine King, Jesus Christ; nor has that faith ever failed by which we are taught that Mary, the Virgin Mother of God, reigns with a mother’s solicitude over the entire world, just as she is crowned in heavenly blessedness with the glory of a Queen.”
Blessed Pope Pius IX exclaimed the same, “With a heart that is truly a mother’s does she approach the problem of our salvation, and is solicitous for the whole human race; made Queen of heaven and earth by the Lord, exalted above all choirs of angels and saints, and standing at the right hand of her only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, she intercedes powerfully for us with a mother’s prayers, obtains what she seeks, and cannot be refused.”
When Mary appeared to Saint Juan Diego as Our Lady of Guadalupe, her head was surrounded by a heavenly crown of twelve stars. She was clothed with the sun, radiant, beautiful and her attire was fit for a Queen. Her mission then was much the same as it is today, to end suffering, bring peace, hope and reverence for life.
Blessed Pope John Paul II called Our Lady of Guadalupe the Star of the New Evangelization, and said that America, the whole continent, must be reconverted and reinvigorated in the faith as the hope for the world. Many countries have already rejected the faith, therefore the world needs America’s conversion. He prophesied that the Gospel will penetrate the hearts of the people of America through her powerful intercession and that the light of the Gospel of Christ will go forth from the Image.
The Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe represents the ongoing spiritual presence of the Mother of God that continues today. She brings us hope. We are living in decisive times. The battle waged for souls is fierce. Our apostolate sends the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Visitations to the lengths and breadths of America, where many are healed and souls are liberated from sin and reconciled with God and the Church.
Joshua Procession at Abortion Center
In city after city, devotees report miracles and conversions when the Missionary Image is present. Many Guardians of the Missionary Image lead peaceful prayer presenses at abortion killing centers and petition Our Lady to end this unnecessary killing. In Fargo, North Dakota, the Image was processed in front of an abortion killing center last Spring. The Guardian and the prayer supporters strongly believed that only through the intersession of Our Lady of Guadalupe would that center be permanently closed. They prayed that Our Lady would perform a miracle and change the hearts and minds of the owners.

On May 1st, the beginning of Mary’s month, they processed the Image around the center and prayed, as the Jews did with the Ark of the Covenant, around the walls of Jericho in the story of Joshua. (See Joshua, Chapter 6). The Ark contained the presence of God. On the seventh day, the Jews blew their ram’s horns and Joshua ordered the people to shout. The walls of the city collapsed and the city was destroyed.
Just as Joshua processed around the walls of Jericho with horns blaring for seven days, so did the Fargo faithful process around the killing center with Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Ark of the New Covenant, because she is pregnant and carries the Son of God in her Image. On the seventh day, they had close to 800 supporters! Amidst the blaring of trumpets, they shouted, “Let my children go!” Many abortion centers have closed by the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe through her Missionary Image. Let us pray that this one also closes soon.
The Missionary Image has traveled worldwide and visited many parishes, nursing homes, schools and abortion centers in every state of our country. Can you help us keep her moving? She is our Queen and brings us many healing graces.
Pope John Paul II asked that Our Lady visit each family, parish and diocese in America. In the past your help has enabled us to send the Missionary Image on Visitations to help fulfill his request. Thank you for helping us do our part. We cannot continue without you.
Our nation is experiencing an economic crisis that has devastated millions of people. Yet the economic crisis cannot be compared to the spiritual crisis our country is enduring. Can I count on you to help us to enable Our Lady to make the visits that Pope John Paul II requested? She will intercede for miracles and graces in hearts, families and communities. Our nation has been graced in a special way by God. Our Lady needs your help to continue this grace.
Be sure to check out the Visitation page to see how YOU can host the Missionary Image in your parish or community! You can also call Johane for information at 888-834-6261.
During the summer months, donations fall as families travel and spend time together. However, our work continues and we still need your help! I know that I can count on you to assist us with your prayers and gifts. What I am asking right now is that you consider increasing your gift to help us through these summer months, even if only by a few dollars. Our needs are basic, bare-boned and very real. We truly need your help this year. Can I count on you to help us?
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the River of Light who can dispel this darkness. Please help me to continue her Journey across this land as she brings us hope. “There is hope for your future, says the Lord, and your children shall come back to their own country.” (Jer. 31:17).
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We know what we need to do. With your help we will accomplish the mission! Please help us today with your gift.
May God bless you, your families and loved ones.
In Our Lady’s Heart,
Dan Lynch
